PROBLEM SPACE
DO I HAVE ENOUGH FUNDS FOR THIS TRIP?
Everyone who rides the transit in Toronto knows how stressful the Presto system can be.
A huge problem that many users face is not knowing their remaining balance. The user then has to divert to the loading station to add funds. This can be such a HASSLE. Clawing your way through a sea
of incoming commuters, just to get some change on your Presto card.

HOW TO OVERCOME THIS?
If the everyday Presto user was aware of their balance when in use,
this could help them plan ahead for their next trip.
How can we keep users up to date?
USER RESEARCH and ANALYSIS

The EZ-Link ticket system was something that popped out immediately.
The EZ-Link ticket system was something that popped out immediately.
The EZ-Link system is used worldwide in China, London, Paris and Athens. They all have different features that make them stand out on their own. For example, London's metro system can let you use a credit / debit card on the fly. Stockholm had a very interesting feature that displayed the users balance as they tap.
ON THE FLY UPDATE
Cities were voted for having the best transit systems in the world due to large spaces, multiple destinations,
and easy to use fare systems. The popular tap function is the main trend worldwide. The one thing that their systems had in common was notifying users how much money they had left on their transit cards.
When the users tap at the stations, they are shown a quick balance update before they continue.
